Federer or Nadal

Ever since I started following tennis(it can be argued idolising, because I was really passionate about it at a certain point,to the point I started to look at the best parts of various implements like racquets, balls etc. So much that I started to be a tennis nut, acquiring as many implements which would allow me to become the best tennis player I could,on an amateur level). The word idolising also necessarily included my fanatic interest in pro tennis news, which was so strong I was able to visit the US Open stadium(Flushing Meadows in New York)once in 2011,the year[as per Wikipedia,{In the women's singles, Australia's Samantha Stosur defeated Serena Williams in straight sets 6–2, 6–3 for her first Grand Slam title. In the men's singles, both Nadal and Novak Djokovic contested the final for the second consecutive year. This time, Djokovic won 6–2, 6–4, 6–7(3–7), 6–1 for his first US Open title.
}]Stosur and Djokovic were crowned the singles' champions.

Now coming to this post's title"Federer or Nadal",the argument here should satisfy any sane adult:I respect Federer for all his artistry, but its Nadal's dogged persistence that wins over time. Both have their favourite surfaces and parts of the court(Federer is the master of the court closest to the net, which will be supported by his record at Wimbledon, the slam played on grass, versus Nadal's mastery of the baseline, the part of the court favored by the dirt baller-par-excellence,but it is Nadal's indefatigability to stick to something that looks like its not perfect initially[his serve has always been a bugbear, and like any tennis player,he is constantly looking to better it,even on slower surfaces, but his disappointments at any given time, with its quality, have not hampered his doggedness, and he's always there to play one more ball, one more game etc]and work tirelessly on making it better{his humility makes him say"better" rather than "best".This is a legendary quality any person can translate to his life and his life will be enhanced thereafter, whether it be in sport(a direct translation from one sport to another),a test of any kind, even in real life.

All this dogged belief has led to a position near the top of the rankings. He was #1 till recently, replaced by Novak Djokovic, after withdrawing from the Paris Masters ATP 1000 event due to injury. [On October 31 2018, he announced his withdrawal from the Paris Masters due to an abdominal injury and as a result Novak Djokovic will replace him as World #1. [188]
]Djokovic ended the year as #1,maybe as a result of  cumulative war wounds throughout the sport, definitely the wounds to others[Nadal] before his own.
