New year's musical challenge

πŸ˜‡πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜πŸ˜€

There is a keyboard at home, which I used in the US to practise on at home, while taking piano lessons in 2012-13,from Martha Blakely).

Personal observation:verbal phraseology to be firmed up(or modified)

I rewatched the video of my presentation at IITM on March 13,2018,with Ranjith and his students in the audience(Mohan as well, being much more voluble than is his wont πŸ˜†;I realize that he cleared a lot of doubts of the students by reinterpreting my slides smartly{{but this is what any presenter does anyway,so its neither here nor there πŸ˜…).I realized that I needed to(still have to) convey a greater sense of confidence in my presentations(or talks of any kind).About phraseology,I used a glut of the horrid filler "SO", which[to try and excuse myself]I am of the opinion that I've heard a lot of others use in their talks, but I will strive to eliminate from my speech, completely if possible !😎

Oh! How I love thee!! (deer @ IITM 😘)

I have always been a wildlife enthusiast:witness my fascination leading me to take elaborate photographs in a variety of locations and using a variety of cameras! I loved the IITM campus when I was studying my B.Tech at IITM,definitely for its affinity with wildlife both low(spotted deer

) and high(blackbuck: whose pictures I am sadly VERY short on!
Research suggested: [[find out where blackbuck can be found at IITM,go there and take snaps!!!]]

[[this arbitrary division of the natural world must be kindly excused)]]

Musical peak of ambition

I had already committed to this idea:I want to start learning to play the clarinet when I return to the US.In the woodwind family,I gave the family a trial in the form of the flute(which has, like the clarinet, multiple holes to navigate skillfully, but I was unable to convince the people who matter that I was up to it.My challenge next year will be to make the woodwind my bosom friend for long enough to be able to play a Mozart clarinet concerto for a recital. Is that an ambitious enough TARGET?

Coming much nearer home,https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7255131756677848144#editor/target=post;postID=6202121719850682778;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=1;src=postname tells about my musical background, which is predominantly in the Indian musical traditions.Having learned a whole lot from these,I want to continue,so I will strive to make this musician[http://www.sanjaysub.com/biography] my master,by demonstration!

Musical segue

I am,to be a little too vain perhaps, very musically adept, and I have applied that to all sorts of music I have learned over the years, from Hindustani music(I cannot recall, with confidence in the veracity of the recollections, who I learned from:vocal, the percussion instrument tabla[I had a keyboard-like instrument when I learned Hindustani, called the harmonium],etc.,but this is the stuff of several blogposts, spanning my Carnatic trysts,my keyboard/piano journey......

Marina beach ahoy!

I went to Marina beach in the evening with Appa[Amma had a sanskrit class and attended Dr.TVS's satsang] by MRTS{Rs.10 per head for return ticket}.I should plan another such outing with Appa and Amma(perhaps Besant Nagar beach would be nearer and less cluttered!) complete with my laptop to watch something and definitely read something there[that eating is mandatory need not be beaten to death,no?]!

Vitamin B12: can milk be the primary source?

Vitamin B12 is a nutrient that helps keep the body's nerve and blood cells healthy and helps make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Vitamin B12 also helps prevent a type of anemia called megaloblastic anemia that makes people tired and weak. Two steps are required for the body to absorb vitamin B12 from food.

Possible sources

Milk and dairy products like yogurt and cheese are great sources of protein and several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B12. ... Interestingly, studies have shown that the body absorbs the vitamin B12 in milk and dairy products better than the vitamin B12 in beef, fish or eggs.

{{Vitamin B-12 is a crucial B vitamin. It is needed for nerve tissue health, brain function, and the production of red blood cells. Cobalamin is another name for vitamin B-12.

So vegetarian lifestyle is the way to go!!!

And as a confirmed vegan[I have experimented with different kinds of milk:almond, flax etc.etc],I have been used to ingesting super quantities of  milk from a wide variety of sources!

So I can claim I was always ensuring my brain was in a happy, productive place!😎😈

Photocollages(πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜Ž)

The very concept of a photo collage makes me salivate. It is a well-acknowledged fact that I am a very good photographer, making the best of my photography implements(cameras, with their associated lenses, filters etc.),but making a collage of multiple photos of mine could lead to so much joy!!!Like discussing the events from the past and inviting other people to do so.

This could be the very best thing I've done in a long time!

The Four Seasons: a distinctive Western classical masterpiece

Anyone who knows me well enough will know I am a music nut(not among the popular fruits : cashew, almond, hazelnut, but implying I am moved...
