I am fast becoming a Thiem-diehard fan,after watching him upend Roger Federer in the Indian Wells 2019 final (so on hard) and am watching Roger playing Dominic at Madrid on clay that year,which after 2 sets (a tiebreak included!!,running to 13-11 and won by Dominic!!!),I learnt,courtesy Google,he won,only at the QF stage (sad he couldn't do it in the most befitting way possible,which would be a Masters 1000 final!!!,but any tournament has many more than 2 players after all).
Finally,Thiem's current H2H against Roger is 5-2!!!
Watching the Madrid match,his shot selection and gameplay are so outstanding I have to think he is in the running for a Slam very soon,maybe RG??
***The detailed H2H shows me their H2H is tied at 1-1 at the APT world finals,having met at the last 2!!!Tells me this rivalry has a lot of hidden gems for me to unearth !!
