Memory gemstone

πŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–I feel thrilled about what happened today,first about my work.My professor agreed to my pre-defense exam fixed on Monday the 21st January 2018[with the committee members selected as well].

Something that has given me boundless joy over the years has been music of any kind;I have learned Hindustani music[so much to feel proud of there:I learned Tabla at one time and had my dedicated harmonium,the equivalent of a keyboard that I used to play tunes of every kind,western,Hindustani and Carnatic,like I am doing with my keyboard ever since I acquired it],Carnatic music{maybe I'll expand on each separately in the future in their separate posts,because they fueled separate and intensely charged times in my life that I continue to learn from},piano and I have plans of acquiring  woodwind instrument skill[highly challenging,I am sure:look at the flute,for an example of the capabilities of this blessed family]:but lets see how that goes.

Now coming back,I sang Carnatic keerthanams today,perhaps to mark my 33rd birthday tomorrow:Karpagame(Madhyamavathi) and Panchashat Peetaroopini(Karnataka Devagandhari,a ragam which has become my new favorite),both learned from Amma. So much to celebrate here,so little timeπŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•.

Now,while I was doing pranayam[Prāṇāyāma is a Sanskrit word alternatively translated as "extension of the prāṇa" or "breath control." The word is composed from two Sanskrit words: prana meaning life force, and either ayama or the negative form ayāma, meaning to extend or draw out. It is a yogic discipline with origins in ancient India.],I recalled the address in Chennai of my aunt at a time {2003-2007} I used to go from IITM to learn music from T.M.Krishna{{{{https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=T.M.%20Krishna%20chennai&epa=SEARCH_BOX}}}}
