Monumental service

Question 1.Why do I feel it necessary to record details of an activity that I choose to label 'monumental service'?Isn't it enough if I remember it myself?
Answer:I remember, correct, but its to ensure the people receiving it do as well.

Today morning,I helped Amma through all the stages of preparing the bittergourd[fondly called 'karela' back in India,in Hindi, probably a good transliteration from English to Hindi???],which included scraping the outer skin, cutting the ends off and deseeding, before cutting into bits, for Amma to boil [the juice is considered good when drunk in moderation, though can be bitter as hell].I am not a huge fan of this vegetable[like most people],but endure it because it is a good counterpoint to sweet.
